I like candy, did someone say gummy bears.

I thought about making this post about the questions I need to ask the surgeon, but I'm still developing that list. So instead you get a post on all the kinds of implants there are. Yay you!

Apparently it's not as easy as deciding if my breasts are going to be an A, B or C cup.

If I still want breast and have some fat then I can maybe do the DIEP flap procedure, but really that's gonna look real weird as they would be cutting below my belly button and likely take half my pretty c-section coverup.

So I'll look like a piccasso.

If I choose implants, which I'm pretty certain I'd like to do there are a bunch of choices.

Choices are good right? Good cause there's like a billion.

So there's another view through my rose coloured wine glasses, I have some time to decide, because I don't already have cancer (to my knowledge, thank god, but seriously, with luck these days who knows)

So anyways here's my choices.

1. Saline Breast Implants

These implants are filled with salty water. If they end up collapsing then the salty water in the implants is absorbed by the body and thrown out naturally. Saline implants are filled after they are placed. This allows it to be placed with smaller incisions. They are used for purposes such as tightening of the breasts and enlarging the size. The average saline or silicone implants may last anywhere from 10 to 20 years

2. Round Breast Implants

Round breast implants that provide a fuller appearance compared to stable ones are highly preferred by women. This option can provide more projection. They do not provide a natural appearance, but they can't rotate or migrate out of place which is an important advantage.

3. Gummy Bear Breast Implants (Form Stable Implants) Ahhh that's where the gummy bears come in. Not nearly as yummy.

With Gummy bears if the shells of form stable implants are broken, they can retain their shapes. Therefore, these implants are also called gummy bear breast implants. The silicone in these implants has a much denser texture compared to traditional implants. Also, they are tighter than the traditional ones. These implants have a conical shape upward. If the implant rotates, this may cause a different appearance. In such a situation, the implant has to be corrected by a new surgical procedure. (extra surgery doesn't sound super fun, but after my kids sucked the life out of my current breasts tight sounds good)

4. Structured Saline Breast Implants

These implants are filled with sterilized salty water. This is a product that aims to give a natural feeling. Also, it causes a more natural breast appearance.

5. Silicone Breast Implants

As the name suggests, silicone breast implants are implants filled with silicone. The most important feature of the silicone here is that it gives the feeling of more natural breast tissue. It can be said that it is mostly preferred because of this reason. In case the implant leaks, silicone can remain in the implant shell or escape to the breast implant pocket. That is even if the implant filled with silicone leaks, it does not collapse.

Because of their above-mentioned features, silicone breast implants need to be checked regularly. If you prefer these implants, please bear in mind that you should visit your doctor periodically. Silicone breast implants are approved by the FDA for women who are above 22.

6. Smooth Breast Implants

One of the most important implants that give soft feeling is a smooth breast implant. They can move with a breast implant pocket that can move naturally. These implants can be felt under the skin or there may be visible fluctuations.

7. Textured Breast Implants

As the name suggests, these implants are closely related to tissue. Textured breast implants cause the development of scar tissue, and because of this they move less in the breast and are less likely to change location.

Once I'm done picking the kind of implant... (sorry I didn't include all the pics, really half of them I can't tell the difference, it would just be feelings. so it's round or tear dropped I think) weeding through pics of other people foobies... take a long time, plus really I want real pics which I can get on the mastectomy pages I joined, but wont share non publicly available boob pics.

After that I need to pick size. Everyone talks in cc's instead of cup size.

And if I pick silicone then there's like 3 different types silicone of too.

Using the Rice Test to determine breast implant size in cc

The Rice Test is a convenient method for determining breast implant size in cc in the privacy of your own home. Start by filling twist tie sandwich bags with rice and inserting them into your desired bra size. Once you have enough rice in the bag to give you the cup size that you want, empty the rice into a measuring cup and record the volume of rice in cups. Then convert the cups of rice to cc’s to get an estimate of the cc’s of breast implant that you will need according to the chart below:

• 1/8 cup = 30cc

• 1/4 cup = 59cc

• 1/3 cup = 78cc

• 1/2 cup = 118cc

• 2/3 cup = 156cc

• 3/4 cup = 177cc

• 1 cup = 236cc

• (this doesn't work for those who have a mastectomy unless they have already had the mastectomy cause I'm already at a C or D, I need to be flat to test this.

Then I have to decide if I want to do nipple sparing.

(Nipple-sparing mastectomy leaves the nipple and areola intact, along with the breast skin. All the breast tissue underneath the nipple, areola, and breast skin is removed. The tissue beneath the nipple and areola are checked for cancer. If cancer is detected, the nipple and areola are then removed.) Probably not. Why do I want to cut off my nipple and sew it back on, it wont have feeling, it will have scars around it, and honestly sometimes your body then rejects it and your nipple falls off. Basically what I think I've decided is, give me whatever looks good and doesn't require a bra, how nice it would be to wear a strapless dress, or low back dress without having to search for a bra. Also screw having nipples, what's the point, just perk em up and a year later I'll get a pretty tattoo.
